Webb25 maj 2016 · I tried the 1700 fps load with Longshot and he MG42 wad. I backed my powder charge down to 33 grains and I did not get a good pattern. I didn't use any buffer and that may have been my problem. I was using #5 steel and it punctured the wad petals. I started using Mylar wrap(aka transparency film) which I cut and put into the wad.

As long as you don't load any HW13 pellets bigger than #4 shot I don't think any pellets would make contact with your barrel with the two Mylar wraps in side the target wad. All of the 7/8 oz of HW13 #4 shot should fit inside the target wad petals.
