My experience with pitting is that it's rather common that pittees escape during pitting (40%?), and for some reason most or all either escape or are pitted successfully in any one batch (I only have a single hatch, and thus only 8 pitting positions, hence 8 in each batch). WebFirst fort noob just lost 75% of dwarves. I had a nice run going. Became a county, had like 198 dwarves, trained up some militia (copper armour), 25 men at arms and 10 marks dwarves. Fought off a few 7-9 goblin crossbow raids. A few cyclops. Cool got this. Had to dig deep for magma. Knicked a cavern, walled it up (or so I thought).
