WebI've had mine for about 5 years. I've tried a few different types of shampoos like Dreadhead HQ and Knotty Boy. I also tried Dr. Bronners and had a terrible experience. I usually just wash mine now once a month with Baking Soda and Apple Cider Vinegar. The ACV rinse part I'll add like 5 drops each of Lavendar, Tea Tree oil, and Peppermint oil.
