If any additional throttle was needed when in cruise it went to 7th or 6th gear on its own. While fuel mileage suffered greatly, the towing experiece was fine. The drivetrain should not be moving during a tow, it can damage the transfer case or other components too easily. However, flat towing is alright because the drivetrain is moving the way it should.
